Cobblers to take sting of of Bees – Saturday’s best football bets

Back with us this week is Tom’s mate and ex-footballer Mark Sale with his low down on this weekend’s best football bets.

After being ridiculed about my horse racing knowledge in Tom Lee’s column the other week, I thought this would be the ideal time to return to the site and give you all a few pointers into the weekend’s football action.

Firstly though a short story on Tom’s so called football expertise. After a day at the races last year and a few jars at my local, we sauntered back home to polish off a full loaf of bread while having a few more sherbets. It was at this moment when I made a big mistake by asking Tom if he would like to come to Burton Albion the following day and have a look around the stadium. “I’d love to” was his reply.

I was quickly reminded of the offer the next morning so off we drove to the Pirelli a short 10 minute drive away. As we arrived and walked through the players entrance out popped our Manager Paul Peschisolido, who was suddenly attacked by Tom saying how much he followed the club, how he always watched the games on T.V, what a good job he was doing, and how he thought they played exciting attacking football; when he came to watch a match last season against Kettering. Paul’s response made Tom look like a quivering schoolboy “I’ve only been manager this season” – Say no more.

Anyway, back to the betting.

Northampton were back amongst the goals last week and I’m confident this will continue in their home fixture against Barnet. The recent capture of Burton’s top goalscorer Shaun Harrod looks a shrewd buy.

Back Northampton to win who are best priced 3/4 with Victor Chandler

Looking at the other games, I can’t believe Chesterfield are 4/5 to beat Aldershot at home. This looks to good so back them to win and also put them in a double with Northampton Chesterfield to win 4/5 with Bet Fred

The Northampton & Chesterfield double pays a shade over 2/1 and a £20 stake returns £60 with Victor Chandler.

Saley’s Longshot

I’m tempted to go for Burton who travel up to Bury but instead I’m moving up a division to League One and hoping Leyton Orient can pull of a bit of a shock at high flyers Bournemouth. Unbeaten in their last, six the O’s have beaten Norwich away, thumped Sheffield Wednesday
4- 0 and got a point against a good Brighton side.

Leyton Orient win 7/2 with Victor Chandler and Sky Bet, the draw is 11/4 most places.

Good luck

Mark “Goal Machine” Sale
